We’ve talked about a lot of prominent Texas Hold’em poker playing tips to use in order to stay ahead of the game and be profitable. In this part we are going to cover some more poker playing tips that you can use whenever you play Texas Hold’em poker.
Many poker players, especially new poker players, insist on calling a bet after the river just to see if the opponent is being honest. This is an utterly pointless move to make, because it will only cost you money. Don’t call a bet just because you are already in the game or have put a lot of money into the pot as well. Instead of pushing forward and calling the bet, master the art of folding and learn to accept losses.
There are four betting sessions in Texas Hold’em poker, so make sure you time and plan your betting carefully. Going all-in pre-flop may not be a good idea even when you have pocket pair of Aces. Going all-in after seeing the river, on the other hand, is also not a good way to increase the pot size. Bet gradually and consistently, and always have a plan in mind.
If you do want to bluff to eliminate opponents early in the game, be consistent about it. If you raise the bet pre-flop, for example, don’t limp after seeing the flop; wager at least the same amount of money –preferably double the amount – to make it difficult for your opponents to see through the bluff or simply fold if the hand is not strong enough.
